I always enjoying bringing new friends here when they're visiting San Diego. The views are great and so is the service. I try something new every time I go. Today, we ordered a combo seafood plate and white clam chowder with fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and we were very happy with our choices. Until next time!

The food at point of seafood is five stars. We've been coming here getting the codfish sandwich for years. You have to get up and grab your own food when they call your number. The ambience is beautiful with fishing boats and the bay.

We wanted to have something fast, by the water, and most importantly, something enjoyable. So, we ended up giving a chance to one of the popular places in Point Loma, right on the harbor, which was serving fresh seafood. It is a self-serving place. You give your order inside, at the register, and if you order a drink, the cashier gives you the drink right away, and the food comes out later; by calling your number. We wanted to eat there, and even so, everything came out in to-go boxes. There are very limited tables for a very crowded place, so it is hard to get a table; especially with an umbrella. This means you should get ready to hunt a table lol Food came out relatively fast even though they were very busy. My husband got their Squid Plate and a draft beer. The plate included the french fries and coleslaw. I got the Crabcake Sandwich and one of their draft lager beer; which I forgot the name of lol. It was the cashier's recommendation. He even let me get a taste before ordering it. Everything was perfect; the beers were good, the seafood was fresh, cooked perfectly fine. Even though some of them were deep-fried, they were good; not oily. OMG to their tartar sauce. I see why it is famous now. Perfect, perfect and perfect. I loved it a lot. However, I just wish that they toasted the sandwich bread. It would make it even more enjoyable. I will be back to try other items.

We used to come here when we lived in San Diego. Some reviews mention the simplicity of the sandwiches, but I believe that's part of their charm. Their signature sandwich is a slice of sourdough bread with fried fish and delicious tartar sauce. My partner ordered the spicy shrimp sandwich for old times' sake and was not disappointed. Our son initially didn't want to eat anything but took one bite of the sandwich and ended up eating half of it. I do not recall them having the upstairs outdoor seating before. We didn't have a chance to try it out because our dogs were with us, so we ate our food on the outdoor cement benches with seagulls and pigeons next to the ocean. The ambiance and taste were just as we remembered, and we enjoyed it very much. This is a fish market with some fast food options. You need to adjust your expectations. My rating is based on what I tried there, which is very limited, but it was very delicious. Five stars to the tartar sauce.

Full service seafood market right on the bay. The place has been around for over 70years. Most come for the super fresh fish to be cooked to order. I ordered the combo plate (cod, crab cake, shrimp) came with slaw and fries ($20 including tax). The fries were ok and I didn't care at all for the dressing on the slaw and only reason for not giving 5 stars. Everything else from the fish to service to the views were perfect. Parking is free (60 minutes) and there is plenty of seating indoor, on their covered balcony, or outside on the cement benches. The view of the bay and the working fishing boats is beautiful. Place is always packed with tourists and locals but they are still able to get your orders out pretty quickly. Place is great for small or medium groups.
